Después de sortear muchas trabas, y de lograr financiación a través de una campaña de micromecenazgo, ha tenido que ser la ciudadanía organizada la que instale las Stolpersteine, piedras de la memoria en homenaje a las víctimas de campos de concentración, este 27 de enero, coincidiendo con el aniversario de la liberación de Auschwitz en 1945, cuando se celebra el Día Internacional de Conmemoración en Memoria de las Víctimas del Holocausto.
